About

This skill helps developers make structured technical decisions by analyzing options against weighted criteria and generating Architecture Decision Records. It's ideal for technology selection, architecture choices, or evaluating implementation approaches. Key capabilities include creating comparison matrices, scoring alternatives, and documenting decisions with clear rationales.

Technical Decision Analysis

Instructions

When you invoke this skill, I will help you make evidence-based technical decisions by:

  1. Understanding Context: What needs to be decided and why it matters
  2. Defining Criteria: Establish evaluation framework based on decision type
  3. Researching Options: Gather facts, benchmarks, and real-world usage
  4. Scoring & Comparing: Create weighted comparison matrix
  5. Generating Recommendation: Provide clear choice with rationale and tradeoffs
  6. Creating ADR: Draft Architecture Decision Record for documentation

Decision Types

Technology Selection (e.g., database, framework, library):

  • Maturity/stability, Performance, Developer experience
  • Documentation/community, Future-proofing, Migration path

Architecture Decision (e.g., sync strategy, API design):

  • Complexity, Maintainability, Scalability
  • User experience, Cost implications

Implementation Approach (e.g., how to build feature):

  • Time to implement, Code quality, Testability, Flexibility

Output Format

I will provide:

  • Structured analysis of each option (pros, cons, tradeoffs, risks)
  • Comparison matrix with weighted scores
  • Clear recommendation with rationale
  • ADR draft ready to save
  • Implementation notes and references

Best Practices

  • Evidence-based: Backed by research and data
  • Context-aware: Consider your project constraints
  • Explicit about tradeoffs: No option is perfect
  • Reversibility-aware: Note if/how decision can change
  • Validated: Include how to verify correctness

Usage

Simply describe your decision:

  • "Should I use SwiftData or CoreData for persistence?"
  • "Evaluate REST vs GraphQL for our API"
  • "Compare authentication approaches: JWT vs sessions"

I'll research options, analyze tradeoffs, and provide a structured recommendation.

Development

This skill executes implementation plans by dispatching a fresh subagent for each independent task, with code review between tasks. It enables fast iteration while maintaining quality gates through this review process. Use it when working on mostly independent tasks within the same session to ensure continuous progress with built-in quality checks.

algorithmic-art

Meta

This Claude Skill creates original algorithmic art using p5.js with seeded randomness and interactive parameters. It generates .md files for algorithmic philosophies, plus .html and .js files for interactive generative art implementations. Use it when developers need to create flow fields, particle systems, or other computational art while avoiding copyright issues.

executing-plans

Design

Use the executing-plans skill when you have a complete implementation plan to execute in controlled batches with review checkpoints. It loads and critically reviews the plan, then executes tasks in small batches (default 3 tasks) while reporting progress between each batch for architect review. This ensures systematic implementation with built-in quality control checkpoints.

Other

This Claude Skill helps developers optimize cloud costs through resource rightsizing, tagging strategies, and spending analysis. It provides a framework for reducing cloud expenses and implementing cost governance across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Use it when you need to analyze infrastructure costs, right-size resources, or meet budget constraints.
